Baking Soda – 2 pinch

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line the cupcake tray with a cupcake liner and grease it with butter or oil.

Step 2:

Prepare the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, and baking soda) by sieving them together.

Step 3:

Take eggs and icing sugar in a stand mixer and whisk it until the mixture gets fluffy and doubles in size. Add oil and butter and whisk again on medium speed for about 2 minutes.

Step 4:

Bake the cupcakes for 20 to 25 minutes after pouring the batter into the mold. When baked completely, you’ll need to take them out of the oven and put them on a cooling rack. When cooled completely, ice them with the prepared icing.

Vegan and Gluten-Free Options

Christmas is for everyone! Here’s how to modify your cupcake recipe for those with dietary restrictions.

Pro Baking Tips

  • Be sure to use room temperature ingredients like eggs, butter, and milk. The mix will be even and the texture will be better.
  • A toothpick can be used as a test to determine the quality of a cupcake. If it comes out clean, your cupcakes are done!
  • Cool Completely: Always cool cupcakes before frosting to avoid a melty mess.
  • Use an Ice Cream Scoop: For consistent size, use an ice cream scoop to portion your batter.
  • Swirl your Frosting: For a professional look, use a piping bag and start from the outside, swirling inward.

How long can I store my cupcakes?

Ideally, consume within 2-3 days if stored in an airtight container.

Can I freeze them?

If you don’t frost them, you can freeze them for 3 months.

What caused my cupcakes to sink in the middle?

It can happen due to over-mixing or an incorrect oven temperature.

Can I replace buttermilk?

Yes, mix 1 cup milk with 1 tablespoon lemon juice or white vinegar and let it sit for 10 minutes.

Why is my frosting runny?

It could be due to over-beating or high humidity. Add more powdered sugar to thicken.
