- Baking powder- 1 teaspoon
- Baking soda- 1 teaspoon
- Salt- ¼ teaspoon
- Buttermilk- 1 cup
- Candied Walnuts:
- One tablespoon unsalted Butter- 1 tablespoon
- 1-1/2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts- 1 ½ cup
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup- 1 tablespoon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt- ¼ teaspoon
- Frosting:
- Butter- 2 cups (softened, unsalted)
- Maple flavoring or maple syrup- 1 teaspoon
- Salt- ¼ teaspoon
- Confectioners’ sugar- 5 cups
- Heavy cream- ½ cup
- Maple syrup- 3 tbsp

- Heat your oven to 350°F. Prepare three 9-inch round baking pans by greasing them, lining the bottoms with parchment paper, and then greasing the parchment as well.
