Authentic Black forest cake recipe was discovered in the early 1500 century. Black forest cake is named after a black forest mountain range that is located in southwestern germany, it presents a type of chocolate cake that is made with dark chocolate and frosted with white cream and cherries. It is considered the tastiest cake because it is enriched with chocolate. The layers of this cake are soaked with cherries syrup, making it extraordinary delicious.
A new version of black forest cake is white forest cake. The difference between both is chocolate. Black forest cake contains dark chocolate, while white forest cake contains white chocolate in its sponge.
While baking black forest cake, try to use dark black chocolate and dark black cocoa powder, but in that case, if it’s unavailable, you can also use ordinary cocoa powder.

⦁ Three large eggs, at room temperature
⦁ 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
⦁ 1 tsp – vanilla essence
⦁ 1/2 cup of butter at room temperature
⦁ Two pinches of baking soda
⦁ 2 ½ tsp of baking powder
⦁ 1 cup- of canola or other vegetable oil
⦁ One and 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
⦁ Milk as required (room temperature). Use to soften the batter.
⦁ Cocoa powder 2 cups
⦁ Dark chocolate 250 gm
⦁ Cherries 1 cup
⦁ 2 cups of whipping cream
⦁ 1 cup of icing sugar
⦁ Two teaspoons of vanilla extract or essence
⦁ Piping bag with decoration nozzles
⦁ Dark chocolate 1 cup
How to proceed:
⦁ Take dry ingredients flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder in a medium bowl and mix it with a hand whisk; sift all the ingredients, and set aside.
⦁ You will need a 10-inch round or square cake pan, some oil or butter, parchment paper on the bottom, and oil or butter on the top. Set the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (176C) or the stove to low heat.
⦁ Using a mixer or electric beater, beat the eggs until they are fluffy and creamy. In another bowl, combine softened butter and granulated sugar, and beat until well combined. Do not overbeat. If you do, it will become dense.
⦁ Fold the dry ingredients gradually with a spatula, in four parts, into this fluffy mixture. Soften the mixture with a little milk if it’s getting hard.
Finally, pour the batter into the greased mold and place it in the oven or cooking pot for baking. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes.
⦁ Place the cake outside to cool for several minutes after it is fully baked.
⦁ Cool the cake for 15 minutes, and then demold the cake by carefully turning the layers onto a cake turntable. Remove and discard the parchment paper.
⦁ Beat chilled cream with an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2 to 4 minutes until it becomes creamy.
⦁ After adding icing sugar, beat it for a few minutes until it becomes more fluffy and stable.
⦁ Next, add vanilla extract and place it in the freezer for half an hour to chill completely.
⦁ After the cream is completely chilled, slice the cake in half, frost the top of one cake layer with vanilla topping, and then top it with the second cake layer.
⦁ Using a butter knife or small spatula, set the remaining frosting around the outside edges of the cake.
⦁ Now fill the frosting in a cake decorating nozzle piping bag and decorate the cake top layer by making swirls or cream roses.
⦁ Crush the chocolate and sprinkle it on the cake top and its edges.
⦁ Place the cherries on the cake swirls.
